Crewing Manager [Philippines]


 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of seagoing personnel administration both for officers and ratings
  • Supervising the implementation of Crew Services Department procedures as planned and executed by the department subordinates.
  • Ensuring that seafarer/s (Crew) are deployed on time and as needed by the principal.
  • Ensuring that each vessel is manned with qualified, medically fit and skilled seafarers and supervising the application of the STCW convention onboard.
  • Managing the selection and recruitment of all seafarers in accordance with the government and MLC guidelines procedures.
  • Answers internal and external communications for and from principal/ship related concerns.
  • Control the briefing, interviewing, screening and hiring for all seagoing personnel.
  • Maintain crewing database and monitor available ex-crew and schedule deployment, anticipating future Company’s needs for recruitment and informing the Chief Operations Officer on manpower planning and deployment challenges.
  • Liaising with the other Department Heads for the recruitment of Hospitality, Culinary, Beverage, Housekeeping, Galley, Stores, Shops and Boutiques crew and/or Deck and Engine/Technical Crew.
  • Checking application forms and previous Company's records for each seagoing personnel prior to engagement and deal with the same after engagement.
  • Verifying that the qualifications and experience of new recruits are genuine.
  • Ensuring the control/monitoring of documents and certificates of embarking seagoing personnel.
  • Maintaining Crew lists of current manning in respect of each vessel.
  • Maintaining personal, medical, and training records and certification details of all personnel.
  • Keeping all personnel files up-to-date. Maintaining a computerized database which contains key personal data and assignment history of all personnel.
  • Reviewing information on the performance of all seagoing personnel and make suggestions on

their promotion, after consultation with the Department Heads.

  • Resolving employment disputes with seafarers and the principal and ensuring smooth completion of same.
  • Keeping aware of manning developments including the requirements for DOLE, OWWA, POEA, MARINA, etc
  • Pooling all seagoing personnel and keeping full records.
  • Prepare monthly and weekly reports to the Chief Operations Officer and the Principal Client.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Php65,000.00 - Php85,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Manila: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Maritime: 3 years (Required)
